I've made this recipe at least five times now, and while the taste is great, the presentation isn't the best since it ALWAYS falls. I've tried all the suggestions, but alas, nothing has worked. Rather than using only white bread flour, I mix 1 cup whole wheat and 2 cups bread flour. Overall, a nice bread for sandwiches, if you don't mind the shape.

This is one of the best for sure! I love to set the machine for dough only, pull it out and bake it in the oven at 375 for 25-30 minutes!

What a great bread recipe. I followed the other suggestions, I also used olive oil in place of vegetable oil. Yummy!!!!!!!!!!

I am a traditional person and have hated bread machines for years. Preferring to bake my bread the old fashioned way. I got a new machine and today I tried this recipe. Ok, from a die-hard traditionalist I must say this is the BEST bread machine bread I have ever tried! It is so close to the "real" thing. Thank you so much for this one. Got any more? :)

Although my bread machine acted up midway through and I had to bake it in the oven (@ 350 for 40 min.), this has been my best bread that I have made in a long time. I did increase the salt to 1 1/2 teaspoons like the other reviews said. I will definetely make this bread again.

Because of this recipe, there is no more store bought bread in our home! I made it “as is” and it was great. To add some fiber in our diets, I made the following modifications: used 3 tablespoons sugar, 2 teaspoons bread machine yeast, 1 cup whole wheat flour, 2 cups bread flour and followed the remainder of the recipe as stated. I use canola oil and have no oil taste that I can discern. I’ve tried the “Express Bake” function and it turned out nicely, but I recommend the “White” or “Basic” setting with a light crust.

This is really good bread!! I am a newbie at bread making but this was so simple. I made it with 1/2 cup wheat flour and 2-1/2 cups white flour. I also added 1/2 teaspoon more salt because I was afraid it might fall like other reviewers mentioned. Mine came out perfect!!

This recipe has several issues. One is that it does not specify flour by weight. Two is that it calls for the yeast to pre-soak when my bread machine (Panasonic) specifically says not to do this (I assume because it has its own rest cycle).

I LOVE this recipe! So simple and so tasty!! The first two times I made it, it fell in. So I added a 1/2 cup more flour and 1 tsp more salt and that fixed the problem. I actually only set it on the dough mode and then I bake it in my regular bread pans because I like that shape better than bread machine shape. Anyway thanks for this recipe!

Delicious! Seriously fool-proof! You can make the recipe as directed, or follow the suggestions from other reviewers - either way, it'll be delicious! I add 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and used 3 1/2 cups bread flour per another review.

This was the first recipe I found for bread machines, and it's still the best! My wife and kids just love the taste and texture, and it is really simple to make! Good Job!

This bread is very good, and we ate it up quickly, but the amount of oil is very high. There are other excellent recipes with much less, so I'm not likely to make this often.

This is seriously the BEST White bread recipe ever---It's came out very fluffy. The only change I made was add only 1 Tbs. sugar instead of 3, and 1/2 tsp. more salt. Will make this again and again. Thanks so much to the poster.
