I was so excited about using brown sugar instead of white and then ended up disappointed with this recipe- I did sub 1/2 cup wheat flour for all purpose and added vanilla and cinnamon- but as another poster said this flavor is boring. I'm going back to the sour cream banana bread.

This is the best banana bread recipe ever!! It is so forgiving - if your missing bananas you don't absolutely need to add them all.. once I was out of eggs and used an extra banana to compensate and it still turned out great

Excellent recipe! I only had 4 bananas so I added 1/2 cup fresh blueberries and 1/2 cup applesauce. I sprinkled brown sugar on top to give it a nice, slightly crunchy top. I baked it for 1 hour and 15 minutes and it turned out moist and deee-licious!

I doubled the recipe to make two loaves and used 1 cup of wheat flour with 3 cups of white flour. Very good!

EVEN BETTER THAN MY MOM'S RECIPE!! So easy and delicious. I believe the amount of bananas does not matter as several of the reviews mention using anywhere from 3 to 7 bananas and it turned out fine. Personally, I used 4, which is what I had on hand. My modifications: 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 cup walnuts, and I used a glass baking pan on the second to last shelf in my oven (which is electric, I think it makes a difference for evenness). Came out completely done, and not too dense. Otherwise, followed the recipe exactly down to temperature and baking time. Will use again and again!

SO MOIST! I didn't think this recipe would be as great as it actually is! 2 1/4 cups of banna was actually 4 large bananas for me. Made exactly as directed and it turned out perfectly!

I have made this several times, definitely my go-to recipe for banana bread. I do tinker with it a little bit now, adding spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, this is moist and dense and super bananaey!! Yum!!

I used an extra banana after measuring and it was really good . If you leave some small chunks of banana and not mash it all completely it really makes a good loaf. I made this in a square pan and made squares rather than a loaf and it was very moist I followed everything else exact to the recipe

I made this as the recipe called for . . . no changes. I like the texture of this bread because I like a dense quickbread. The ratio of the ingredients is right on. However, I thought the flavor was a little boring. In my opinion it needs some spices as previous reviews have noted. I'll try this recipe again but next time I'll add some vanilla, cinnamon, and walnuts. Of course, then it won't be Banana Banana Bread, but I want to capitalize on the ingredient ratio that Shelley has developed. I did sprinkle some brown sugar on top as suggested by other reviewers, and I liked the crunch it added to the top of the bread.

I tried this because it got great reviews but I didn't have the same 5 star luck. I didn't feel it had enough flavor if you can believe it. I went by the receipe in totality and can't understand where the flavor was.

Came out nice and moist. I didn't have enough bananas so I added 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce and a few spices (vanilla, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg). Very flavorful and definitely will be my go to recipe to use up over ripe bananas.

This gets five stars for being easy and delicious. I used four bananas(didn't measure) but it came out great. Put in two smaller disposable loaf pans for forty minutes with brown suger on top. I'll make again for sure, always have left over bananas!

This is delicious. Snacked on it last night after dinner, and we toasted it this morning and had it with cinnamon flavored coffee. Just toasted it and buttered it and it was wonderful.
